Charles-Georges Duvanel

Charles-Georges Duvanel (born May 10, 1906 in Aarau , † June 18, 1975 in Bernex GE ) was a Swiss cameraman , film director and film producer .

Life

Charles-Georges Duvanel was involved in the creation of the Swiss newsreels from 1924 to 1929 and made the documentary Les Ailes en Suisse in 1929 .

In 1930/31 he accompanied GO Dyhrenfurth's Himalayan expedition as a cameraman.

He then moved to Geneva and worked as a film producer and freelance director on behalf of various Swiss institutions and associations.

He was also a co-founder of the Swiss Association of Film Producers .

The estate of Charles-Georges Duvanel is kept in the Swiss film archive (also known throughout Switzerland as the Cinémathèque suisse) in Penthaz. It is made up of film material and paper stocks. The latter document Duvanel's film productions and their reception, as well as film production in Switzerland in general from 1920 to the 1960s.
