Bernex is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland .
The hamlets of Chèvres, Loëx, Lully, Sézenove and the desert of Vuillonnex belong to the municipality on the left bank of the Rhone .
history
Bernex was part of the Sardinian territory united with Geneva in 1814. Here were the Savoyard troops under the Geneva 1590 Charles Emmanuel I. defeated.
The community was formed in 1793 under the name Bernex-Onex-Confignon . In 1850 the current communities Onex and Confignon were separated .
In Bernex today there is still a lot of agriculture, especially viticulture .
