Cartigny is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland . The villages of Cartigny and La Petite Grave belong to the commune in the center of Champagne.
history
In 1220, Bardonnex, which was already settled in Roman times, was mentioned as Cartiniacum or Quartinie. In 1528 Cartigny was conquered by the Savoy. In 1536 Cartigny was liberated again by Bernese troops, but the residents had to convert to the Reformed faith. From 1567 to 1754, like other Geneva communities, it became part of Savoy .
