Corsier is located on the left, southern bank of Lake Geneva .
history
Remains of pile dwellings have been found in Corsier. The oldest date from the Early Neolithic (3856 BC), the youngest from the Late Bronze Age (891–834 BC).
In 1297 the place was mentioned as Corsiacum . From the end of the 14th century until 1798 Corsier belonged to Savoy (Vogtei Chablais ), apart from the Bernese capture 1536–1567. After French rule at the end of the 18th century, the municipality passed to the Canton of Geneva in 1816 and was merged with the municipality of Anières . Corsier has been an independent municipality since 1858.
