Confignon is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland .

history

Mentioned in 1153 as Confiniacum , the community passed to Bern in 1536. From 1567 Confignon belonged to the House of Savoy . In 1793 Confignon became, together with Bernex and Onex, a single political municipality Bernex-Onex-Confignon . This belonged to France until 1816, after which the municipality was transferred to the Canton of Geneva, and the municipalities separated in 1850 and 1851 respectively.
