Anières is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland .

The hamlets of Bassy and Chevrens belong to the municipality on the southern shore of Lake Geneva.

history

A pile construction station existed on Lake Geneva. The settlement is mentioned in 1179 as (Guillelmus) Dasneres . From the 14th century until the French Revolution, the community belonged to the Savoy Bailiwick of Chablais , interrupted by the Bernese occupation from 1536 to 1564/1567. In 1816, Anières and Corsier were merged. However, they separated again in 1858 due to differences in spending policy.
