Genthod
Location of the municipality

Genthod is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland . The municipality includes the village of Genthod and the hamlets of Malagny and Creux-de-Genthod and is located on the right bank of Lake Geneva between Bellevue and Versoix .

history

Genthod was under Bernese from 1536 to 1564 , under Savoy from 1564 to 1590 , under Geneva from 1590 to 1601 and under French rule from 1601 to 1816 before it passed to the canton of Geneva.

From 1768 the Geneva philosopher and scientist Charles Bonnet retired to his estate in Genthod and died there in 1793.
