Charles Addams
Charles Samuel Addams (born January 7, 1912 in Westfield , New Jersey , † September 29, 1988 in New York ) was an American cartoonist .
Life
He regularly published cartoons in The New Yorker magazine from the 1930s to the 1980s . This included the Addams Family . Thanks to his very morbid humor, he managed to lead the series to great success. He was personally interested in weapons and instruments of torture in order to be able to draw these objects true to life. The common accusation that he was crazy or hates children was wrong: Addams loved children and liked to draw them happily in his caricatures.
Addams drew comics about his Addams family, which he named after himself, while he was still at school . He had a big say in the filming of the series.
