Karl David Wilhelm Mayer-Eymar ( Eymar is an anagram of the name Mayer; born July 29, 1826 in Marseille , † February 25, 1907 in Zurich ) was a Swiss geologist and paleontologist .

Live and act

Mayer-Eymar studied geology and paleontology in Zurich and Paris ; In 1866 he received his doctorate . From 1857 to 1864 and from 1867 to 1896 he was a private lecturer at the Zurich Polytechnic and curator of the geological-paleontological collection ( University of Zurich ).

Mayer-Eymar was from 1875 to 1906 associate professor for stratigraphy and paleontology at the University of Zurich.
