Charles Deslys (born March 1, 1821 in Paris , † March 13, 1885 there ) was a French writer.

Deslys received his education at the Lycée Charlemagne and undertook an extensive study trip to and through Italy after completing his school days. After his return he worked for some time as an actor in the south of France. During this time he was also able to debut as a writer.

After initial difficulties, Deslys had his literary breakthrough in 1846 with his novella "Les bottes vernies de Cendrillon". From this success on, Deslys only worked as a writer. In addition to his own works (also for the theater), he wrote commissioned works for the Courrier français ; a dithyrambic story of the Révolution de Février and in 1851 the novel La mère Rainette .
