Charles Grandmougin
Charles Jean Grandmougin (born January 17, 1850 in Vesoul , † April 29, 1930 ) was a French writer, poet and librettist .
Grandmougin is best known for his dramas and poems, which were set to music by French composers such as Georges Bizet , Gabriel Fauré or Benjamin Godard ( Le Cup, “symphonie dramatique”, 1878). He also wrote the libretti for operas by Jules Massenet ( La Vierge ) and César Franck ( Hulda ).
