Charles Lefebvre
Charles Lefèbvre (born June 10, 1843 in Paris , † September 8, 1917 in Aix-les-Bains ) was a French composer.
Lefébvre studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Ambroise Thomas . In 1870 he won the first Second Grand Prix de Rome with the cantata Le Jugement de Dieu . Since 1895 he was professor at the Conservatoire and directed a class for instrumental ensemble playing.
Lefébvre composed more than 100 works, including a symphony, orchestral and wind suites, organ, piano and chamber music works, operas and ballets.
