Charles Allen Moser

Charles Allen Moser (* 1952 ) is an American doctor , internist and sexologist with a research focus on individuals from the LGBT , BDSM and fetish scenes who want to integrate their sexual interests into their lives. Moser is a well-known internist and specialist in sexual medicine .

Career

Moser received his BS in physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1974 . In 1975 he received an MSW from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. from the non-accredited Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in 1979. He is currently Professor of Sexology and Dean of Professional Studies there. He received his MD in 1991 from Hahnemann University School of Medicine . He has been a specialist in sexology since 1980 and a specialist in internal medicine since 1994 . Moser was president of the Society for Scientific Study of Sexuality's Western Region and is co-editor of the journal San Francisco Medicine .

Publications included discussions about paraphilias , nipple piercing , sadomasochism , safe sex , orgasm, and the effects of drugs on sexual function. He and Peggy Kleinplatz criticized aspects of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and argued in favor of deleting the paraphilias and dyspareunia from it.
