Charles Pickel (born May 15, 1997 ) is a Swiss football player . He plays as a midfielder or full-back for the Grasshopper Club Zurich in the Swiss Super League .
Career
society
Pickel started playing football at FC Solothurn and moved to the juniors at FC Basel in 2011 . On December 23, 2015, he signed his first professional contract, he signed an agreement that was valid until June 30, 2018. He made his debut for the first team of FC Basel on May 16, 2016 in the 4-0 away defeat against FC Luzern . Under coach Urs Fischer , Pickel won the championship title with FCB at the end of the 2015/16 season . For the club it was the seventh title in a row and the 19th title in the club's history.
On February 28, 2017, Pickel switched to the Swiss record champions Grasshopper Club Zurich and signed a contract until June 30, 2021. He made his championship debut for his new club on March 5, 2017 in the away game against Lucerne . He played through and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
International
He had his first international match in Switzerland U-19 on September 1, 2015 against the Portuguese U-19 .
