Charles Vincent Aubrun

Charles Vincent Aubrun (born April 4, 1906 , † February 2, 1993 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye ) was a French Romanist and Hispanist .

life and work

Aubrun studied from 1923 at the Sorbonne (as a student of Ernest Martinenche ), and in 1927 in Murcia with Jorge Guillén . In 1930 he passed the Agrégation in Spanish and was a high school teacher in Brest, Nîmes, Tangier, Rabat, Bordeaux and Tours. From 1940 he taught (as a representative of Amédée Mas ) at the University of Tours , from 1945 in Bordeaux . He qualified as a professor at the Sorbonne in 1949 with the writing Recherches sur la genèse, la nature et la date des vieux romances espagnols (unpublished) and the publication of Le Chansonnier espagnol d ' Herberay des Essarts , XVe siècle (Bordeaux, Féret, 1951). From 1951 he was professor colleague of Robert Ricard at the Sorbonne . Aubrun was an officer in the Legion of Honor (1987).
