Ivan Edouard Charles de Wendel d'Hayange (born October 8, 1871 in Château de l'Orfrasière en Touraine ; † May 2, 1931 there ) was a hut owner and member of the German Reichstag .

family

Charles de Wendel came from the Wendel industrial dynasty . He was the son of Robert de Wendel and the Spanish-French Countess Marie Antoinette Elisabeth Carmen Consuelo Manuel de Gramedo.

Charles de Wendel's uncle was a member of the Reichstag, Paul-Francois-Henri de Wendel (1844–1906).

In 1895 Charles married Countess Gertrude " Gertie " de Dyhern (1869–1935), a great-granddaughter of Prince Anton Radziwiłł . However, the marriage was soon annulled.

Life

Wendel studied in Paris . He lived in Hayingen (Lorraine) since 1892, with the exception of a study visit to America of several years . There he was head of the smelting works Les petits Fils de Fois. De Wendel & Cie. .

From 1907 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the Independent Lothringian Party (ULP) for the constituency of Reichsland Elsaß-Lothringen 13 ( Bolchen , Diedenhofen ).
