Charlie Bell (born November 7, 1960 in Australia ; † January 16, 2005 ) AO , was the head of the world's largest restaurant group, McDonald’s .

Bell started at McDonald's at the age of 15 in the Kingsford branch in Sydney , Australia. He was at the top of the world's largest fast food chain for only 7 months . Bell was the first non-American to be entrusted with the post. He was the successor to Jim Cantalupo, who died on April 19, 2004 .

Charlie Bell unexpectedly resigned from his post on November 23, 2004 due to colon cancer (which he succumbed almost 2 months later) at his own request. He was succeeded by 60-year-old Jim Skinner .
