Chauncey Hardy (born May 15, 1988 in Middletown , Connecticut , † October 9, 2011 in Bucharest , Romania ) was an American basketball player .
Life
Career
Hardy began his basketball career at Xavier High School and moved to Sacred Heart University in 2006. He played for the Pioneers for four years and moved to the Romanian second division team CSS Giurgiu at the end of 2010, who rose to Divizia A in 2011. There Hardy played the first two games of the season for Giurgiu.
death
On October 8, 2011, after beating Dinamo Bucharest, he visited a nightclub in Giurgiu and was involved in a brawl. Hardy suffered two heart attacks in quick succession as a result of this brawl and was subsequently rushed to hospital. There he fell into a coma again and died shortly afterwards.
