Checco Zalone is the stage name of Luca Pasquale Medici (born June 3, 1977 in Capurso ), Italian actor, musician, songwriter, impersonator , comedian and screenwriter .

Career

Zalone was born as Luca Pasquale Medici in Capurso in 1977 and has lived in Bari for 10 years. His stage name is derived from "Che cozzalone", which means something like "What a cheek " in the baric dialect . Zalone initially studied law at the University of Bari , but later switched to television . In 2004 he made his acting debut and has since worked as an actor and producer on numerous Italian television productions. Together with director Gennaro Nunziante , he has made four major films since 2009, of which Der Vollposten (in the original "Quo Vado?") Marks the peak of his career so far. In addition to his work as an actor and producer, Checco Zalone is also a successful musician who has already released several albums and singles. He is also famous for his imitations of Italian celebrities. He regularly goes on tour with his stage program.

He was also successful in 2006 with the song Siamo una squadra fortissimi , which celebrates Italy's victory at the 2006 World Cup . Since 2009 he has appeared in four movies with the character of Checco . Zalone was also responsible for the script. Gennaro Nunziante directed it.

In January 2016, his film Quo Vado? more than € 22 million in one long weekend, about as much as Star Wars: The Force Awakens made in three weeks.
