Cheese in the Trap is a 2018 South Korean film by Kim Je-yeong . The film is based on the Webtoon of the same name and was adapted as a television series in 2016. Park Hae-jin, who already played the lead role in the television series, also took it for the film. The other roles were filled differently.

Yu-jeong, who comes from a wealthy family, falls in love with the ambitious and hardworking Hong Seol. Both go to the same university. Yu-jeong is very popular while Seol has not yet been in a relationship. Seol is very surprised because Yu-jeong ignored or greeted her a year earlier. Hong Seol is repeatedly harassed by the stalker Yeong-geon. The young Baek In-ho can often rush to help and rescue Seol from unpleasant or dangerous situations. Baek In-ho and Baek In-ha are the adopted siblings of Yu-jeong. The latter can't stand the two of them because they told their father about him when they were at school.
One day, Yeong-geon uploaded pictures of Seol and her friend and roommate Bo-ra, describing them as sex addicts. The contribution cannot be traced. But with Baek In-ha's help, Yu-jeong can prove Yeong-geon's guilt and wash Seol's reputation back. Ultimately, Seol collides with the brick killer. Coincidentally, In-ho sees him one evening and wants to catch him. However, he escapes into Seol's student dormitory. He hits her in the elevator. But In-ho and Yu-jeong pursue him. Yu-jeong drives him off while In-ho continues to follow him. Together they can both catch the brick killer.
Yu-jeong was able to improve his relationship with the Baek siblings through the events, while he finally tells Seol when he fell in love with them.
Moviegoers
The film opened in South Korean cinemas on March 14, 2018 and had a total of 229,005 visitors.
The film was shown exclusively in the cinemas of the CJ CGV chain . Some organizations questioned whether this would further tighten the monopoly position. The film distributor Little Big Pictures was accused of double standards. The film distribution was founded in 2013 by a consortium of producers and at that time condemned the monopolistic and oligopolistic practices of the major cinema operators and film production companies.
