use
The Chemin de Fer Touristique du Tarn is operated as a museum railway by the French ACOVA ( Association pour la Conservation Occitane de Véhicules Anciens ), which has existed in Toulouse since 1975 . It uses the route of the former railway line from La Ramière to Saint-Sulpice, which was only in operation from April 11, 1925 to June 20, 1931.
The railway line begins at the terminus of Saint Lieux-lès-Lavaur and runs on some streets of the village up to a 132 m long viaduct over the river Agout . Then it crosses rural areas and forests before arriving at the terminus, les Martels.
ACOVA has five steam locomotives , including three that are classified as Monument historique . One of these is a Decauville from New Caledonia with an original gauge of 500mm, but the others have been re-gauged from 600mm.
The train runs from April to October on Sundays and public holidays, and from July to August also on weekdays.
