Chemical Technical Assistant

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chemical-technical assistant (CTA) is an apprenticeship in Germany. Chemical-technical assistants are mainly used in research , development , food analysis and environmental analysis .

education

The chemical-technical assistant training takes place in public and private schools. It usually lasts two years and takes place full-time. It includes theoretical and practical lessons (in the laboratory ), both in approximately the same amount of time, which take place entirely at the respective school. At some schools you can choose to specialize in environmental protection technical assistant (UTA) after the first year of school . In this case, the practical subjects of organic chemistry and preparative chemistry as well as the theoretical subjects of general chemistry and organic chemistry are replaced by the practical subjects of process engineering and environmental analysis, as well as by the theoretical subjects of biology , ecology , environmental law and process engineering.

Theoretical subjects

Theoretical subjects with examples of hours per week (1st year / 2nd year)

General theoretical area

  • German
  • English (1/1)
  • Economics and Social Studies (1/1)

Theoretical area ( chemistry class )

  • General and Inorganic Chemistry (2/2)
  • Analytical Chemistry (3/3)
  • Computer Science (2/1)
  • Mathematics I / stoichiometry (4/2)
  • Organic Chemistry (3/3)
  • Physics (2/1)
  • Physical Chemistry (2/2)
  • Spectroscopy

Practical subjects (laboratory lessons)

Practical subjects with details of the weekly hours (1st year / 2nd year)

  • Physical and physical-chemical internship (also: physical measurement and testing technology, PMP) (2/5)
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis (also as: inorganic-analytical chemistry, AAC and instrumental analysis, IA) (10 / -)
  • Preparative internship (also as: organic-preparative chemistry) (- / 6)
  • Technical investigations (also as PMP, see above) (- / 5)
  • Microbiological internships

The exact distribution of hours can vary slightly from state to state.

requirements

The prerequisite for training as a chemical-technical assistant is the secondary school leaving certificate (secondary school leaving certificate) or a comparable other educational qualification.

Further training to become a chemical engineer

The training to become a chemical engineer and chemical engineer is possible in two years of relevant professional practice.
