Chentkaus III. was an ancient Egyptian queen of the 5th Dynasty . So far, she is only known through her grave, the discovery of which was announced on January 4, 2015. This tomb is shaped like a mastaba , a rectangular limestone building that is considered the forerunner of the pyramids, and is located in the ancient Egyptian necropolis of Abusir near the pyramid of King Raneferef . Therefore it seems likely that Chentkaus was the wife of this ruler, because she also bore the title " King's Mother " and was perhaps the mother of Menkauhor . Chentkaus III. was buried under Niuserre , as seals of this ruler were also found in her grave.
