Cherifa Kheddar

Cherifa Kheddar ( Arabic شريفة خضار) is a human rights activist . She is the president and founder of the organization Djazaïrouna (جزايرونا“Our Algeria”), which supports the victims of the Algerian civil war . In 2009 she won the International Service Human Rights Award for the Defense of the Human Rights of Women.

In 2009 she was one of the 500 most influential Muslims on the list of the Prince al-Walid-bin-Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding of Georgetown University and the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center of Jordan.
