Chesterfield Inlet ( Inuktitut : Igluligaarjuk ) is an elongated narrow inlet in the Kivalliq region of the Canadian territory Nunavut .
The bay is located in the northwest of Hudson Bay and has a length of 180 km. At its western end, the outflow arms of Baker Lake and the Quoich River flow into Chesterfield Inlet.
Cross Bay , a widening of the bay, is 19 miles east of Baker Lake. There are several islands in the bay.
The Inuit - Hamlet with the same name, Chesterfield Inlet is south of the mouth of the bay into the Hudson Bay. The area used to be home to the Aivilingmiut and Qaernermiut people .
