Chety ( Middle Egyptian H̱ty ) was an ancient Egyptian " treasurer " under Mentuhotep II (around 2000 BC).

supporting documents

Chety is known from various sources. He had a large grave decorated with reliefs (TT311) in Deir el-Bahari , whose limestone- clad burial chamber was decorated with paintings. He is mentioned several times on reliefs in the king's mortuary temple. In the Schat er-Rigal , a wadi in the south of Egypt, he appears once in a sedfest scene . He also appears together with Mentuhotep II and his mother Jaah in Schat er-Rigal. Based on the Sedfest scene, he was perhaps in office since the ruler's 30th year of reign and thus hosted the Sedfest for Mentuhotep II. His successor in office was Meketre .
