Chhimed Rigdzin Lama ( Tib . : 'chi med rig' dzin ; also: Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche ; Zilnon Lingpa ; * 1922 ; † 2002 ) was an important Lama and lineage holder of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism .

He was abbot of the Khordong Monastery in Kham , Tibet , in what is now the Chinese province of Sichuan , and was considered a healer and Mahasiddha . Chhimed Rigdzin Lama was the lineage holder of both the Northern Treasures and the Khordong Lineage, a lineage of Buddhist transmission that goes back to the treasure hunter Nuden Dorje (Nuden Dorje Drophan Lingpa Drolo Tsal, 1809–1872, Tib . : Nus lDan rDo rJe 'Gro Phan gLing Pa Gro Lod rTsal) goes back to his 4th incarnation Chhimed Rigdzin. Just like Dudjom Rinpoche , whose student Chhimed Rigdzin was, Dudjom Rinpoche was also considered to be the incarnation of the Nyingma lama Dudjom Lingpa (1835–1904) and all previous incarnations associated with Dudjom Lingpa. In Tibet, Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche is said to have been incarnated by Guru Rinpoches in the 8th century as Khyechung Lotsawa , one of the 25 so-called disciples of Chimphu . Chhimed Rigdzin Lama was himself a treasure hunter of Guru Rinpoche's hidden spiritual treasures in the 8th century. He traveled extensively in the west and founded the Khordong Byangter Monastery in West Bengal in India and the Khordong Drophan Ling Monastery near the Polish-Czech border crossing Nachod / Kudowa-Zdroj. The following lineage holder of the Khordong transmission is his own son Ugen Chencho Lama , who like his father regularly gives teachings and transmissions of this lineage in the west. James Low is considered to be one of Chhimed Rigdzin's secondary school students, who spent about 10 years with Rinpoche and his family in India and with whom he translated and published many texts from the Byangter and Khordong traditions into English.
