The city is the capital of the Chhota Udaipur district . Chhota Udaipur has the status of a municipality . The city is divided into 7 wards (constituencies).

history

Chhota Udaipur was the capital of the former princely state of Chhota Udaipur , which was founded in 1743. This state was part of the Agency Rewa Kantha and merged with the Indian Union on March 10, 1948.

Demographics

The city's population is 25,787 according to the 2011 census. Chhota Udaipur has a gender ratio of 968 women per 1000 men and thus a common surplus of men for India. The literacy rate was 81.1% in 2011. Almost 60% of the population are Hindus , approx. 38% are Muslim and approx. 2% belong to another or no religion. 11.4% of the population are children under 6 years of age.
