DJ Chicago (* 1951 in Chicago in Illinois , USA), real name David Christman, is an American psytrance artist and co-founder of 1200 Micrograms . He shaped electronic Goa early on in 1983. Since then, he has performed together with other artists such as Raja Ram , Riktam or Bansi at festivals around the world with the artists' association 1200 Micrograms, until it dissolved at the end of 2016.

biography

Christman grew up in Chicago. After that, he traveled the world for a while to learn about new cultures and customs. He had his first contact with mind-expanding substances in 1966, which significantly influenced his further path. In 1983 he found his way into the Goa / Psy movement, which was emerging at the time and in which he is still active today.

In 1999 he, Raja Ram (Ronald Rothfield), Rikatam and Bansi founded the artist group 1200 Micrograms . The idea for this came to them, according to their own statements, on 1200 micrograms of LSD. Thereupon they published numerous tracks in their first album (1200 micrograms) under the name of other psychedelic substances such as B. Ayahuasca , Mescaline , Magic Mushrooms or DMT .

They achieved great popularity in the psytrance scene around the world and performed at numerous festivals until the group disbanded in 2016 due to internal disputes.
