China CITIC Bank ( Chinese 中信 銀行 / 中信 银行 , Pinyin Zhōng Xìn Yínháng ) is the seventh largest Chinese loan bank in the asset category . The company was founded in February 1987 as a comprehensive and international bank and is listed in the SSE 50 share index.
The company is a subsidiary of the Chinese company China International Trust and Investment Company . The company was formerly known as CITIC Industrial Bank . The company offers various types of banking services to its customers. At the end of October 2005, China CITIC Bank had 418 bank branches in China and set up corresponding partnerships with 990 banks in 70 countries worldwide.
China CITIC Bank has assets of 576 billion RMB (71 billion USD ) and a non-performing loan rate of 2.5% (11.1 billion RMB). The liquidity ratio is 9.1%.
Since the bank was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange , its stock has been one of the worst of all pro- People's Republic of China stocks. It fell below the IPO of HK $ 5.80 and closed on June 5, 2007 at HK $ 5.79. It is the second Chinese stock in Hong Kong to fall below the IPO price after the People's Insurance Company of China .
