Chingon
The band Chingon ( Mexican Spanish for “cool”, “cool” or “strong guy!”) Was founded by director and screenwriter Robert Rodriguez ( Desperado , Sometime in Mexico , Sin City ). The band consists of members of the Austin Music Community and members of the Spanish rock band Del Castillo. Among others: Carl Thiel, Rafael Gayol and Cecilio Ruiz. Robert Rodriguez changes his area of expertise and plays guitar in the band.
Originally founded for the soundtrack of Sometime in Mexico, the formation has reunited for the soundtrack of the El-Mariachi trilogy Mexico and Mariachis . The songs Cukarocka and Siente mi Amor (vocals by Salma Hayek ) come from the soundtrack to Sometime in Mexico . Another song, Malagueña salerosa , is a re-arrangement of a classic mariachi standard that Rodriguez originally conceived for the film Desperados - it later found its place in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill - Volume 2 . A first studio album called Mexican Spaghetti Western was created in 2004.
