The Chinook Pass is a mountain pass on the Rymill Coast of the Palmerland in the southern part of the Antarctic Peninsula . It leads from the Föhn Bastion to the Wright Spiers . It is considered a suitable dog sledding route for the overland route south of the Brindle Cliffs .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the pass in 1977 after the Chinook , the warm fall wind on the east side of the Rocky Mountains .
