The Wright Spiers are three distinctive and up to 750 m high rock pinnacles on the Rymill Coast in the west of Palmer Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . They tower on the east side of Chinook Pass .
Aerial photographs of the formation were taken by the United States Navy in 1966 . The British Antarctic Survey carried out surveys between 1970 and 1973. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the spiers in 1977 after surveyors Graham Keith Wright (* 1942) from the British Antarctic Survey, who from 1969 to 1971 on the Hallet station and 1972-1973 on the station of the Survey on Stonington Iceland active and headed the latter from 1974 to 1975.
