The Chiprovtsi Point (English; Bulgarian нос Чипровци nos Tschiprowzi ) is a 400 m long and non-iced headland on the north coast of Rugged Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It forms the east side of the entrance to Nishava Cove and is 3.14 km west-northwest of Herring Point , 1.16 km west-northwest of Simitli Point , 1.75 km east-southeast of Cape Sheffield and 3.9 km southwest of the start point of the neighboring Livingston- Island .
British scientists mapped it in 1968, Spanish in 1992 and Bulgarian in 2005 and 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2006 after the town of Tschiprovzi in northwestern Bulgaria .
