In Chixdiggit is a Canadian pop-punk band from Calgary , which was established in 1990 and 1991st The name of the group is, according to their own statements, the heavy metal spelling of "Chicks Dig It" (German: girls like it or girls like it ). Most of the band's songs are about women and relationships.

history

The exact year Chixdiggit was founded cannot be specified, as the band initially only existed as a fictional music group of the two high school friends KJ Jansen and Mark O'Flaherty. Before they had even written or recorded a song, they were printing fan shirts that sold surprisingly well. With the money they earned, they bought instruments and, although total beginners, decided to really make music. After finding a bass player and a drummer in Mike Eggermont and David Alcock, they made several small appearances from 1992 onwards.

In 1994 they played their first real tour with Lagwagon and Strung Out . They liked Lagwagon singer Joey Cape so much that he recommended them to NOFX Frontmann and Fat Mike , who later signed them to his record label Fat Wreck Chords . In 1996 Chixdiggit released their self-titled debut album under the Sub Pop label . This was followed by the move to Honest Don's Records , a sub-label of Fat Wreck Chords .
