The Chkalov Bluff ( Russian Гора Чкалова Gora Tschkalowa ) is a cliff in the East Antarctic Kempland . It is the southernmost of the Turbulence Bluffs on the eastern flank of the Robert Glacier .
Aerial photographs were taken in 1956 and 1959 during a campaign by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions and in 1962 by Soviet scientists. The latter named it after the Soviet pilot Valeri Tschkalow (1904–1938). The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated the name into English in an adapted form.
