Chochola style

Chochola style is the name of a ceramic of the Maya in Yucatan , during the Late Classic was manufactured.

The Chochola pottery was named after the place Chocholá , where it was first discovered archaeologically . These are artistically very sophisticated everyday objects made of black clay with figurative images from the Puuc region . The mostly scenic images or characters are elaborately modeled and structured, while the ceramic remained unpainted. The places of manufacture, as indicated by signatures or inscriptions, were exclusively in Xcalumkin and Oxkintoc . However, through trade, the products spread throughout the Yucatán.
