Choirul Huda (born June 2, 1979 in Lamongan , Jawa Timur , † October 15, 2017 ibid) was an Indonesian football player in the position of goalkeeper .

career

Huda spent his entire professional career at his hometown club Persela Lamongan , where he was under contract from 1999 until his tragic death in October 2017.

In a league game against Semen Padang on October 15, 2017 , Huda crashed so unhappily with his teammate Ramon Rodrigues that he sustained fatal injuries, which he succumbed a little later.

In the 44th minute, Huda collided with Rodrigues while running out and held his chin before he passed out. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he passed away that same day from severe head and neck injuries.

According to information from his club, Huda sustained injuries to his torso, jaw, brain and neck from the collision. Then his breathing stopped, causing cardiac arrest. Immediately after the final whistle of the game, which was won 2-0, his teammates followed Huda to the hospital. The following day the club announced that in honor of Hudas, jersey number 1 would no longer be awarded.
