Chorense is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Chorense belongs to the district (Portuguese concelho ) Terras de Bouro in the district of Braga . The community had an area of ​​8.3 km² and 454 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013 the municipalities of Chorense and Monte were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Chorense e Monte . Chorense is the seat of this newly formed community.
