The dam lake charvak ( Uzbekistan Чорвоқ ; kirghiz Чарвак Charvak ; Russian Чарвак Charvak , English Charvak ) is a reservoir in the North East of the province of Tashkent in Uzbekistan , of the flow Chirchiq whose source flows at the confluence Piskom and Chatkal ( Chatqol ) dams. The water comes from the western foothills of the Tianshan Mountains and flows on to the Syr Darja .
The reservoir was dammed by means of a 168 m high and 768 m long stone embankment dam and has a capacity of 2 km³. The Chorvoq Dam is the highest in Uzbekistan. The water is used as a water reservoir for irrigation and to generate electricity. In addition, Chorvoq (from Persian chahar bagh , 'four gardens') serves as a recreational area, for example for water sports.
