Course of the Piskom (Пскем) and its source rivers |
The Piskom ( Russian Пске́м Pskem ) is a source river of the Chirchiq in the Uzbek province of Tashkent .
The Piskom arises at the confluence of the Oygaying and Maydontol rivers . Both source rivers arise in the west of the Talas-Alatau . The Piskom runs mainly in a south-westerly direction between two mountain ranges, the Ugom Mountains in the west and the Piskom Mountains in the east, and finally flows into the Chorvoq reservoir at the Bogustan settlement , which is drained by the Chirchiq.
The course of the Piskom river and its catchment area are largely located in the Ugom-Chatqol National Park . Including its left source river Oygaying, the Piskom has a length of 149 km. The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . Between May and August it leads to floods . The mean discharge (MQ) is 80.4 m³ / s. The river is suitable for rafting and kayaking .
