history

In the parish register of 1350 Pullenried (as Pülnreuth ) was listed, but not Wildeppenried. In 1398 Pullenried (as Pulenrewt ) and Wildeppenried (as Eppenrewt ) were both mentioned as pastoral care offices in the vicariate's accounts . In 1438 the parish Pullenried was described as devastated and dissolved. After the area had been devastated by the Hussites, Wildeppenried was assigned to the Teunz parish in 1526. With the Reformation in 1556, Pullenried and Wildeppenried became branches of the parish of Schönsee. Pullenried had its own Protestant clergy between 1570 and 1625. In 1616 there was a school for Pullenried and Wildeppenried. This school died in 1643 due to lack of money. Pullenried and the other places in the area were almost completely depopulated by the Thirty Years' War .

During the Counter Reformation in 1665, Pullenried was listed as a parish and was initially looked after by Oberviechtach, and from 1697 by Teunz. In the course of the War of the Spanish Succession , the whole area around Pullenried was again destroyed and looted at the beginning of the 18th century. The owner of the Hofmark from Pullenried, Johann Albrecht Erdmann Portner von Theuern, bought a parsonage in 1720/1721 and improved the benefices. Now Pullenried has been occupied by a pastor. In 1749, the Landsassengut Pullenried was awarded to Georg Wolfgang Schmauß - former glass master from Plöß - for his bravery. His son Georg Michael von Schmauß set up a mirror grinding factory in Plechhammer . Remnants of the Pullenried estate were sold to Georg Dobmeier in 1836.

As of March 23, 1913 (Easter) the place Pullenried had 42 houses and 256 inhabitants. The entire parish of Pullenried, which also includes the places of the former parish of Langau , had 1,361 Catholics and no non-Catholics on that date.

On December 31, 1969, the municipality of Pullenried had 76 houses, 336 inhabitants and an area of 537 hectares, of which 145 hectares were forest. To her belonged:

Plechhammer with sawmill (7 houses), Neumühle with sawmill (1 house), Weißbach (2 houses), Hannamühle (1 house).

On December 31, 1990, Pullenried had 228 Catholics. The entire parish of Pullenried had 585 Catholics and 37 non-Catholics on this date.

The Wildeppenried branch, which was still part of the Pullenried parish in 1913, was specially listed in 1990 with 554 Catholics and 16 non-Catholics.

Today (2013) Pullenried belongs to the parish Oberviechtach in the deanery Neunburg-Oberviechtach .
