Nunzenried is a district of the town of Oberviechtach in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf ( Bavaria ).
Geographical location
Nunzenried is located about 500 m north of Ostmarkstrasse about 2 km east of Oberviechtach on the eastern edge of the Oberviechtach granite basin.
history
In 1270 Nunzenried belonged to Altenschneeberg Castle , which at that time was the center of its own office. Nunzenried was mentioned in writing in the draft protocol of 1587. North of Nunzenried is the 639 m high Brennhippl (= Brennhügel) on which a charcoal burner used to have his kiln. An old salt road went through Nunzenried until the end of the 19th century via Dietersdorf to Bohemia. In Nunzenried there was a blacksmith and an innkeeper who were sorely needed given the poor road conditions at that time. The carts are said to have jammed up to Ostmarkstrasse at that time. In 1840 Nunzenried was incorporated by the Neunburg vorm Wald regional court into the newly created Oberviechtach regional court . As of March 23, 1913 (Easter) Nunzenried was listed as part of the Oberviechtach parish with 12 houses and 75 inhabitants. Nunzenried was incorporated into Oberviechtach in 1946. On December 31, 1990 Nunzenried had 70 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Oberviechtach.
