Neumühle is a district of the town of Oberviechtach in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria .

Geographical location

The wasteland of Neumühle lies within the gentle eastward arch that the Murach makes here after flowing through Oberlangau and Mitterlangau in a north-south direction, near one of the side arms of the river. To the east of Neumühle, an extensive forest area - the fir forest - rises to an altitude of 728  m . Numerous springs arise on its densely wooded, partly marshy slopes, which flow into the Murach as small streams. One of these streams is the trout stream, which rises from the Herrnbrunnen southwest of Schwand and flows into the Murach between Gütting and Neumühle. To the northwest of Neumühle, the landscape opens up somewhat into the area of Unterlangau , Pullenried and Wildeppenried .

history

On March 23, 1913 (Easter) Neumühle was listed as part of the Pullenried parish with one house and 8 residents. On December 31, 1969, the municipality of Pullenried had 76 houses, 336 inhabitants and an area of 537 hectares, of which 145 hectares were forest. It included Plechhammer sawmill (7 houses), Neumühle sawmill (1 House) Weissenbach (2 houses), Hanna mill (one house). On December 31, 1990 Neumühle had six residents and belonged to the parish Pullenried and the municipality of Oberviechtach.

Culture and sights

There is a chapel built in 1910 on the Neumühle farm. To the north-east of it stretches a forest through which the Murach flows, in which there are numerous funnel-shaped pits - witnesses of attempts from the 16th century to find gold in this area.
