Geographical location

Konatsried is about 500 m north of Ostmarkstrasse and about three kilometers east of Oberviechtach on the eastern edge of the Oberviechtach granite basin.

history

Konatsried was first mentioned in writing in 1285 in the Duke's Surbar as the property of Duke Ludwig II of Upper Bavaria . In 1587 Konatsried appears in the draft report. It was formerly called Konradsried (or Chvnratzrivt , Koradsried ) and belonged to the Nunzenried community, with which it was incorporated into Oberviechtach in 1946.

North of Konatsried is the 639 m high Brennhippl (= Brennhügel), on which a charcoal burner used to have his kiln. On March 23, 1913 (Easter) Konatsried was listed as part of the Oberviechtach parish with 10 houses and 60 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990 Konatsried had 31 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Oberviechtach.
