Unterlangau is a district of the town of Oberviechtach in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria . The place lies in the district Mitterlangau , which corresponds in its extension to the former municipality Langau .

Geographical location

Unterlangau is the southernmost village in the Langau . Mitterlangau is 2 km to the northeast and Oberlangau is another 2 km to the north . The Langau (= Lange Au) is a narrow, light, north-south-facing meadow valley between the dense forests of the 750 m high Stangenberg in the west and the 808.6 m high Stückberg -Greiner massif in the east. On the slopes of the Stückberg-Greiner massif, the Murach rises from numerous springs and flows west down through Oberlangau, where it turns south and continues through Mitterlangau. Then it flows in a gentle curve to the east past Unterlangau, which is slightly offset to the west, past Pirkhof . Unterlangau is about 1 km southeast of Pullenried .

history

In 1285 a village Langau (villa Langenowe) was mentioned, which was subordinate to the Waidhaus office . In 1318 the gold works in Langenau (together with the Öde Walprechtsreuth) were pledged to Konrad Paulsdorfer von Tännesberg for 60 pounds Regensburg pfennigs . In the Urbar of 1326 Langau is no longer listed. The Langenau gold prospect was also no longer mentioned in the late Middle Ages . The villages of Ober-, Mitter- and Unterlangau were founded in the 16th century.

Unterlangau is mentioned in writing for the first time in the sample report from 1587. Unterlangau belonged to the parish Pullenried. The area around Unterlangau was depopulated by the Thirty Years War.

When the community was formed in 1818, Unterlangau became part of the Mitterlangau community, which was merged with Oberlangau to form the Langau community in 1830 .

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Unterlangau was listed as part of the Pullenried parish with nine houses and 56 inhabitants. On July 1, 1976, Unterlangau was incorporated into the town of Oberviechtach just like the rest of the Langau community.

On December 31, 1990 Unterlangau had 50 inhabitants and belonged to the parish Pullenried and the municipality of Oberviechtach.
