Käfermühle in the Nunzenried district is an officially named part of the municipality of Oberviechtach in the Schwandorf district of Upper Palatinate .

Geographical location

The two residential buildings of Käfermühle are east of the city center of Oberviechtach on the left Steinbach-Oberlauf Siechenbach , which runs through the Siechenwiesen here . The Nabburg – Schönsee railway used to run directly above the buildings on the slope .

history

It was first mentioned in 1494 as "Keffermüll". Käfermühle came to Oberviechtach when the community of Nunzenried was dissolved in 1946.

The last census on May 25, 1987 found two residential buildings, two apartments and six residents in the desert . In the censuses from 1871 to 1885, "Obere Käfermühle" and "Unter Käfermühle" were recorded separately.

Käfermühle has belonged to the Catholic parish of Oberviechtach since at least 1787.

Culture and sights

A bike and hiking trail leading past the Käfermühle uses the route of the former railway line from Nabburg to Schönsee.
