Yannick Favennec (born August 12, 1958 in Chaudron-en-Mauges , Maine-et-Loire ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2002 .

After completing his law degree, Favennec, who was already politically active as a teenager, worked as a parliamentary assistant . He was then an advisor to François Léotard and, after his appointment as Minister in 1986, worked in his Ministry of Culture and Communication. In 1991 he left politics and worked for Bull , where he was responsible for external relations. He returned to politics in 1995 as chief advisor to the State Secretary for Foreign Trade. After he was also an advisor to the mayor of Laval , he ran in the 2002 parliamentary elections. In the third constituency of the Mayenne department , he was able to move into the National Assembly for the UMP . In 2007 and 2012 he was re-elected as a Member of Parliament. In November 2012 he switched from the UMP to the UDI parliamentary group, which includes right-wing and centrist parties.
