Schwand is a district of the town of Schönsee in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria .
geography
The approximately 40 buildings that belong to Schwand are on the edge of a plateau, the highest point of which is the Stückberg at 808.6 m , on the SAD44 road. Schwand is located near the slopes that descend steeply into the valleys of the Ascha and Murach . Schönsee is around three kilometers away.
history
Schwand formed a joint municipality with the neighboring village of Laub, Schwand and Laub , which was first mentioned in writing in 1360 as Swendet and Laube . Its last mayor was Josef Ebnet (1897–1978, house name: Koundl) from 1945 until it was incorporated into Schönsee on January 1, 1972.

There is a chapel at the southwest end of the village.
Sports
In winter, a 5 km long cross-country trail is groomed on the meadows that surround Schwand all the way down to Schönsee.
