Gaisthalerhammer is a district of the town of Schönsee in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria .
The six residential buildings that belong to the hamlet of Gaisthalerhammer are partly on an island that forms the Ascha here, partly on the left and right banks of the river a little below the state road 2159 . Schönsee is around five kilometers away by road. Gaisthalerhammer lies at an altitude of around 550 m above sea level. NHN .
Gaisthalerhammer was first mentioned in writing in 1557 as Hammer Obergaißthal among the goods that the Prague Lehenhof would like to add to the Frauenstein fiefdom .
On January 1, 1975, the previously independent municipality of Gaisthal with Gaisthalerhammer and four other localities was incorporated into the municipality of Schönsee.
Gaisthalerhammer has a small sawmill and a restaurant .
